Will I ever write another article? I hope so. In the meantime, here's Marsh and I talking again.

Limited Resources #22: Point Me in the Right Direction

Limited Resources #22

My post to the comments section:

I'm going to beat listeners to the punch and say: we kinda missed the "point" of the Latest Developments article that inspired this podcast. We put a ton of stake in the *old* method of pointing discussed at the beginning of the article when arriving at our rankings, and we did it for draft. In the quiz, they wanted readers to use the new pointing system discussed at the end of the article--one heavily grounded in benchmarking, and also specifically for sealed as opposed to draft.

As a result, our answers for the pointing quiz in this episode are *way* different from what they would have been had we strictly used the benchmarking method for sealed.

I take the blame...I suggested to Marsh that we do the pointing quiz shortly before recording the show, when he hadn't read the article at all, and I obviously hadn't read it as closely as I should have. :) Well, look at it this way: the ways in which the old method of pointing frequently confounded and confused us are great examples of why Wizards moved to the new approach, it's definitely much cleaner. Maybe we'll re-point based on the new system before next show and share the results...

RSS *This*

I finally hit a tipping point on people asking if there was a way to RSS Waiting for Godot, my Magic: the Gathering column published at PureMTGO. There isn't; you can only RSS all content on puremtgo in one big feed.

This blog is my hack--it exists solely (at least currently) to announce and link to new Waiting for Godot and Limited Resources podcast content...
